Hatun has a proven track record with over 10 years in software engineering and has already brought this wealth of experience and understanding of the payments domain to provide strategic leadership and direction to Silverflow, reporting directly into the CEO Anne Willm De Vries, as the company remains agile and reduces lead times to differentiate from its competitors. She will be responsible for building and running our engineering platform, from platform and feature developments to engineering team organization.

With digital payments set to continue its meteoric rise and grow by nearly 10% in the next four years, resulting in a market volume of US$16.62tn in 2028, Hatun’s first objectives are to ensure total operational efficiency to meet these rising volume demands, testing the platform’s resilience and scalability. From there she’ll channel her expertise to enhance the close collaboration between the product development and engineering teams to ensure Silverflow continues to meet the highest standards of innovation its customers expect.

Having completed a degree in Computing Engineering at Bilkent university, Turkey, Hatun arrived at the University of Twente, Netherlands to embark upon a PhD in Computer Software Engineering. From there, she worked as a Software Engineer for the Dutch retail brand Bol, before joining Silverflow in 2022 as a Software Engineer and Team Lead.

Anne Willm De Vries, CEO and Co-founder of Silverflow, said: "As part of continuous growth strategy, we’re constantly looking to place the best experience and expertise in the most effective roles, whether that is an outside appointment or hiring up. Kardelen’s deep technical expertise combined with her proven ability to build and lead high-performing engineering teams makes her an invaluable asset to our company and we are delighted to see her take on this new leadership role. As we continue to scale our platform to meet the growing demands of the global payments industry, Kardelen's leadership will be instrumental in driving innovation and ensuring our continued success."

Kardelen Hatun, VP of Engineering at Silverflow, said: “It’s an honour to be recognised for the great work we’ve achieved to date to ensure our platform enables the best payments experience for everyone, but we’ve only just started. Standing still means you are behind the market, so my plans are about building on what we have, innovating and enhancing processes and collaboration as our business expands to new markets.”

This appointment follows the recent announcement of Dagmar van Ravenswaay Claasen as the Chairperson of its supervisory board. The board was launched earlier this year to support Silverflow’s growth strategies, as well as provide insights into industry needs, solutions, and the future of payment technology.
